Hactl joins hands with airfreight community in support of charity
(5th December 2006, Hong Kong): Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) joined hands with major players in the airfreight community yesterday to raise funds for charity body the End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation at the Air Cargo Community Charity Golf Day 2006.

Now in its third year, the Air Cargo Community Charity Golf Day is an annual fundraiser organised by Chun Yu Logistics Holdings, Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics Limited and Hactl. Held yesterday at the Shenzhen Mission Hills Golf Club, the event attracted more than 240 enthusiastic golfers from the air cargo community competing in the Els Course and the Ozaki Course of the golf club, and successfully raised more than HK$1 million for the End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation. Founded in 1998, the End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation is a charity body that dedicates its efforts in the protection of children from sexual abuse. All the proceeds of this year's Charity Golf Day, after deducting the necessary costs, will be donated to the Foundation in support of its educational program in secondary schools on the prevention of child sexual abuse.

"We are pleased to continue to be a sponsor and one of the organisers of the Air Cargo Community Charity Golf Day this year. Since its inauguration in 2004, the event has become a signature event of the air cargo community, bringing together the major players in the industry to raise funds for the needy in a concerted effort. As a good corporate citizen, Hactl will continue to work closely with our airfreight industry partners to contribute to the society through charitable and community services," said Anthony Wong, Managing Director of Hactl.

Launched in 2004, the Air Cargo Community Charity Golf Day has been held with the objective of bringing together all players in the airfreight community in support of local charitable organisations. A total of HK$762,000 was raised in the 2004 event for The Society for the Protection of Children, and the funds have helped set up a Day Creche in the headquarters of the beneficiary organisation in the name of the Air Cargo Community. Last year's event raised HK$920,000 for The Hong Kong Digestive Foundation, in support of its educational campaign in the prevention of colon cancer. Hactl has been a major sponsor and one of the organisers since the launch of the event. Other than the Air Cargo Community Charity Golf Day, Hactl has also taken an active part in other community services. In February 2006, Hactl held its annual fundraiser, Hactl Charity Run, at SuperTerminal 1 to raise funds for the Community Chest. The company's own community services team, the Hactl Ambassador, organises social service activities on a quarterly basis to promote the spirit of good corporate citizenship. Hactl has been awarded the "Caring Company Logo" since 2004 by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, signifying its commitment and contributions to social and community services.
