Around 180 members of the public attended the seminar, which was one of the events organised under the Colon Cancer Awareness Campaign funded by the Air Cargo Community Charity Golf Tournament - an annual fundraiser co-organised by major players in the airfreight industry including Chun Yu Holdings, DHL, Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics Limited and Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl). The golf day held in December last year raised over HK$920,000 for the Hong Kong Digestive Foundation to support its educational campaign on the prevention of colon cancer.

Colon cancer is the second most common cancer in Hong Kong, with more than 3,000 new cases found every year. Color cancer does not have obvious symptoms in its early stage, and hence regular colon-cancer screening is important for early detection. The seminar held last evening provided a good opportunity for members of the public to learn more about the disease and the importance of its prevention. Visitors aged 50 or above were also given free registration for colon cancer screening.
