(3rd August 2006, Hong Kong :) Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) and Global Logistics Systems Hong Kong Limited (GLSHK) are pleased to announce an enhanced data integration between Hactl's Community System for Air Cargo (COSAC) and GLSHK's Ezycargo air cargo portal.
Earlier this year, Hactl launched a new COSAC function whereby freight forwarders declare the piece and weight of mix-prepacked cargo at its website www.hactl.com upon physical cargo acceptance. This function enables freight forwarders to directly submit mix-prepacked cargo data to COSAC on-line, thereby simplifying data submission for freight forwarders on the one hand, and expediting the export cargo acceptance process on the other.
Under the new data integration project between COSAC and Ezycargo, the data input function for mix-prepacked cargo is now extended to the Ezycargo portal. Freight forwarders who book cargo space with Ezycargo's participating airlines can now directly declare data of the mix-prepacked units through Ezycargo. The cargo data will be linked to COSAC, obviating freight forwarders' need to input the data again upon cargo delivery to Hactl. The new service streamlines the data entry process for Ezycargo member freight forwarders as well as the subsequent data verification process on the part of carriers.
"We are delighted to launch this enhanced system integration between COSAC and Ezycargo. The new service enables us to widen our service options for freight forwarders, and at the same time enhance our overall service efficiency. We are committed to continue streamline both physical cargo handling as well as the data movement along the logistics chain, adding values to the airfreight industry," said Warren Bishop, Hactl's Director, Corporate Development.
"We are pleased to see this new milestone in cooperation with Hactl. Together we will continue to serve the air cargo community and create a favorable environment for Hong Kong to remain aviation hub of choice in Asia," said Paul Tam, Chief Operating Officer, Global Logistics System (HK) Co., Ltd.
