(12th January 2006, Hong Kong :) Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) and Global Logistics System (HK) Co., Ltd (GLSHK) are pleased to announce that the data integration between Hactl's Community System for Air Cargo (COSAC) and GLSHK's Ezycargo air cargo portal has gone into live operations.
Following the signing of a co-operation agreement between Hactl and GLSHK in July last year, Hactl has developed software that enables data integration. Over the last few months, Hactl and GLSHK have jointly carried out a series of tests, as well as a pilot run to ensure that data integration is rolled out smoothly.
With the successful launch of the project, shipment-booking data from Ezycargo is shared with the electronic cargo reception function in Hactl's COSAC system, streamlining the data entry process on the part of freight forwarding companies. The data integration enables Hactl to receive and process cargo data in advance, enhancing the cargo reception efficiency when freight forwarding companies tender their cargo at Hactl. They can also benefit from the convenience of having access to COSAC cargo data via the Ezycargo platform once shipment is physically accepted by Hactl.
"We are pleased to be partners with GLSHK on this data integration project. Hactl has been a pioneer in deploying information technology to provide services that add value to the logistics chain, and we are confident that the industry will benefit from the enhanced efficiency resulting from this data integration," said Warren Bishop, Hactl's Director, Corporate Development.
"We are delighted to launch the electronic reception checklist functions on Ezycargo platform. The integration between Hactl and GLSHK will help enhance the data inheritance and definitely facilitate seamless information exchange throughout the supply chain. We are planning to rollout more functions to further enrich the Ezycargo as the one-stop-shop multi-carrier portal for our customers", said Lawrence Fong, GLSHK's Commercial Director.
